Flag Programs
The Lions Flag Football program runs during the spring months (April, May, June dependent on field availability). It is a development league for boys and girls. It is designed to teach and develop the fundamentals of football for new players without adding equipment or contact. For the younger age groups, it is a skills development league first focusing on safe playing techniques and equal playing time for all players. Above all, it is FUN. Players can learn and develop new skills, make new friends, improve their physical fitness, and enjoy the football experience. Using a 6 on 6 format, players are provided with the opportunity to learn multiple positions. All flag equipment needed to play will be loaned to the player for the season (except cleat shoes).
Our flag football program is for girls and boys ages 6 to 18.
Payment: Preferred method of payment is online credit card. No cheques will be accepted for registration. To make arrangements to pay cash please email registrar@yorkregionfootball.com

Flag Refund Policy
There are no refunds in Flag.
Equipment
All equipment needed to play will be loaned to each player for the season (with the exception of footwear/cleats). A deposit cheque of $25 is required at the time that a player is given equipment. Cheques will be held and returned at the end of a player’s season. The equipment must be returned clean and must not be altered in any way.
Monday Night BBQ
A highlight of our development and flag program is Monday night BBQs at our homefield. Each Monday a group of parents will shop and cook for all development players and family. Suggested donation per food item (hamburgers/hot dogs) will be provided. Participation in the BBQ is mandatory; parents are reimbursed for any expenses incurred when purchasing supplies at the field.
