We are a firm believe in a child's right to participate in organized sports. YRFA reduces the cost of sports by providing all equipment needed (with the exception of cleats). In addition, financial assistance may be available for those that qualify. Please see links below. Some support is limited to the area in which a child lives, please read all options carefully. Support is provided in partnership through the association and our partners below.

KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport.

One in three Canadian families cannot afford to enroll their children in sport and recreation activities because of financial barriers (Ipsos Reid, 2009). That means that many kids are missing out.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart is dedicated to removing barriers, so children can participate in organized sport and recreation. Jumpstart helps cover registration, equipment and/or transportation costs to help children participate in a sport or recreational activity of their choice. We see it as equipping kids for life, because participation in organized sport and recreation increases a child’s chance for success in life.
They discover and participate. They gain self-confidence. They develop self-esteem. They learn leadership skills. Their lives become richer. This is the power of Canadian Tire Jumpstart. Since their launch in 2005, Canadian Tire Jumpstart has given 473,792 kids across Canada the chance to play. Please apply based on where you live (see below). The Town of East Gwillimbury is committed to helping youth (under age 19), elite athletes and community groups of the Town to participate in various activities and community programs.
To support this commitment, the Town has established a “Youth and Community Initiatives Fund”, which is funded through the Mayor & Council Charity Golf Tournament held annually in September.
