York Region Lions Football - Parent Information for the 2025 Spring Season
Welcome, Lion Families! We are excited to provide you with the key information you need for the upcoming 2025 Spring football season. Please read through the details below carefully.
2025 Flag Football Schedule
Our Spring Flag Football program will run from May to June 2025, culminating in a tournament at the end of June.
Tentative practice field locations and times are as follows:
- TUESDAY: Sheppards Bush Athletic Field (Aurora) - 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
- THURSDAY: Dr. J.M. Denison (Newmarket) - 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Please Note: Due to field allocation, this information is subject to change. We will notify you of any updates as soon as possible.
Football Ontario Insurance
All participating athletes are required to have Football Ontario insurance. Information regarding this will be provided during the registration process.

Spring Tackle Programs (OSFL)
Hello Lion Families! We are looking forward to an action-packed 2025 Spring season in the Ontario Spring Football League (OSFL). Each of our tackle teams is guaranteed 8 games before playoffs!
Our 2025 Spring/Summer Tackle program includes the following teams:
- U10 (born in 2015/16)
- U12 (born in 2013/14)
- U14 (born in 2011/12)
- U16 (born in 2009/10)
- U18 (born in 2006/07/08 - with 10 spots per game)
- U19 Women's (born in 2007, 2008, 2009)
Important Note on Playing Time: Please be aware that playing time is not guaranteed. Players new to the program or moving up from a younger age division may experience less playing time initially. We strongly encourage all players to attend practices, work hard, and remain dedicated to improvement.
Program Details by Age Group:
U10 (born in 2015/16)
- Practices: Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
- Season: Mid-April to the beginning of August 2025
- Games Begin: May 2025
- Program Registration Fee: $900 + insurance
U12 (born in 2013/14)
- Practices: Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
- Season: Mid-April to the beginning of August 2025
- Games Begin: May 2025
- Program Registration Fee: $900 + insurance
U14 (born in 2011/12)
- Practices: Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
- Season: Mid-April to the beginning of August 2025
- Games Begin: May 2025
- Program Registration Fee: $900 + insurance
U16 (born in 2009/10)
- Practices: Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Season: Mid-April to the beginning of August 2025
- Games Begin: May 2025
- Program Registration Fee: $900 + insurance
U18 (born in 2006/07/08)
- Practices: Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
- Season: Mid-April to the beginning of August 2025
- Games Begin: May 2025
- Program Registration Fee: $900 + insurance
- Note: There are 10 game-day roster spots available for this age group.
U19 Women's (born in 2007, 2008, 2009)
- Practices: 2x per week from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (days to be confirmed)
- Season: April - June 2025
- Games Begin: April 2025
- Program Registration Fee: $900 + insurance
Cost Breakdown (Spring Tackle Programs):
The program fees cover a comprehensive range of expenses, including:
- Training camps
- Equipment renewal
- Socks, jerseys, and pants
- Field rentals
- Coach development
- HUDL (video analysis platform)
- Bussing (where required by the league)
Home Games:
All Lions home games will be played on Sundays at St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS in Aurora. The specific game schedule will be posted by April 2025.
Equipment:
All necessary protective equipment (excluding cleat shoes) will be loaned to players for the duration of the season. Equipment will be issued once program fees have been paid.
